Reading tastes good!

Lillie helping me read a book.

Laughing video

In honor of the slightly warmer weather I thought I would get a video of Lillie laughing.  This should help thaw this arctic state.

Camera note: It's hard to hold a camera steady while blowing raspberries on a baby's tummy.

5 months!

Lillie is 5 months today.  I feel like the 3-6 month period is the calm before the storm.  I can see Lillie moving in the horizon and so now is the time to board up the proverbial windows (bubble wrap our entire house).  It has been a lot of fun watching interact more and more with the world.  I am nervous for when she starts moving around, but I am also crazy excited because every time she encounters something new, she smiles at it.  That's just a good attitude for everyone to have.

When did you get so strong?!

Lillie loves to stand while we hold her.  I have also been standing her near the ottoman to get her used to using it for support.  I did not realize how quick she would get used to the idea.  Today she was able to hold herself up for small amounts of time just using the ottoman.  Eric managed to get an adorable picture of this.  I can't believe how strong she is getting!

Present Lillie vs. Past Lillie

This weekend we took a family trip to the mall.  When we got home, Lillie was being so awesome in her infant carrier that I took some pictures.  It reminded me of the pictures we took of her before her first car ride.  She is a completely different baby!

 Tiny Lillie:

I got you feet!

One of the developments I was really looking forward to was when Lillie would be able to curl up into a baby ball and grab her feet.  She had just started doing this and has already tried to put one of her feet in her month.  You may have been able to hear my squeal of delight when it happened.

High chair and jumper

Lillie has been developing like crazy lately.  She's gotten so big and is holding her head up so well we have been able to start using her high chair and jumper.  The high chair allows Lillie to sit with us at the table.  She really likes this.  The jumper gives her a lot of things to look at, but she needs to grow a little more before she can get both feet on the ground.

Starting solids foods

Lillie is at the age where we can start to introduce solid food.  We had gotten bananas this week, so I thought I would have her try them out.  As you can see her first impression is one of indifference, but after a couple of days she has warmed up to them.  Lately she has even been snatching up the globs of banana that fall onto her bib, so I will say that bananas have been a success!  I am really excited to see what tastes she ends up having.  She could either like very little (like her mother) or like everything that has been deemed edible (like her father).

The sounds of Lillie

I have been able to capture the awesome sounds that Lillie has been making as of late.  She has become very talkative and is always adding new sounds to her repertoire.  She has also graced us with a laugh every once a while, which is the best thing ever.
